A feature-length film about the mistakes of a worker (hereinafter a novice) who had just arrived at the monastery during Great Lent. It represents the backstory of the first, second and fourth series: "Prologue". A two-minute video about a worker who came to the monastery to become a monk; about who a neophyte is and what mistakes can await a novice soul, which, having come to faith in God, flies as if on wings. "Forgiveness Sunday". The parable tells how a worker on Forgiveness Sunday asked forgiveness from all the people whom he offended, but, leaving the temple, he scolded the person who accidentally pushed him. "Oh, I'll fast!" The worker, inspired by the instructions of the desert fathers, decided to become an ascetic. I picked up a bunch of thick books in the library, threw out all the fast food that he had. Yes, he only condemned ordinary monks - they say, they were transferred to Rus'. It was then that he learned a lesson - it is impossible, while doing something good, to judge others. "Prayed." Trudnik decided to pray alone in his own cell, like the great hermits. At the service, where everyone prayed, he wanted to sleep. And he prayed alone to such an extent that visions began to appear to him. It's good that the confessor is nearby! He drove away the unclean charm and ordered the young worker to go to the common service every day, move to a common cell, and leave only the Gospel and the prayer book from the books, which he did. "Xerophagy". Somehow, a worker decided to live Great Lent on dry bread and water. He stopped eating together with everyone and almost brought himself to exhaustion of the body with such food. From that time on, he began to eat right, following the post. "Grandma's Pies" Once a worker went to visit his grandmother. Yes, only on the table she had only modest (chicken, meat pies, sausage, Russian salad), and Great Lent was in the yard.
