On a typical summer morning, Olga Petrovna Tumanova heads to the hairdresser's with another crime novel in her purse. Suddenly, in a neighboring yard, her friend Svetlana intercepts her. An emergency happened - for three days already, Svetlana's acquaintances, the elderly spouses of Biryutina, have not answered calls either on the phone or at the door. Penetrating through the neighbor's balcony into the apartment, Olga Petrovna finds the elderly couple poisoned and the mystery begins.
