In the summer of 1942 near Stalingrad, a pivotal battle ensues, determining the world's fate. Sergeant Lubomir Zukh, aged twenty, inexperienced in combat, briefly leaves his unit to bid farewell to his girlfriend. He's absent for only three hours, yet wartime rules brand him a deserter, facing execution. The severity of his sentence is evident to all. Will the military machine pause, will there be a pardon?
