Life does not stand still - in the monastery, where they serve God, new buildings are growing, and the monks and parishioners in their labors and prayers grow in spirit, they learn to bear each other's infirmities. The first parable "The Ladder" is about a young and ambitious businessman. It is difficult for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God... So even Sergei Sergeyevich, at least he believed in God, but he relied too much on himself. Here, jealousy is not according to reason, and haste in spiritual exploits, and absurd fantasies. So there is something to smile about and something to think about... The second story is about a novice. Evil thoughts and condemnation overcame the poor. While confessing, the soul was like a pure spring, but how it forgot about the power of confession - it became like a stinking swamp. He broke such firewood ... Thank God, the confessor is nearby - he will pray, and he will say a good word, and he will impose penance in time. Our hero corrected himself and even managed to reconcile two deeply offended people. That is why the third parable is called "The Wise Servant".
