Freelance writer Yoshito's first assignment on a new online foodie website involves yakiniku (grilled meat), but he hears that his estranged mother Yasue had collapsed. 18 years prior, she had been running her late husband's beloved yakiniku restaurant, but had to shut it down after popular food critic Furuyama Tatsuya published false statements about it, causing a sharp drop in customers.
