Fukuyama Kenji, who retired at the mandatory retirement age, took care of his beloved wife who had been suffering from dementia, and now lives alone in quiet solitude. Recently, Kenji, who has been feeling anxious about forgetfulness, is conscious of maintaining his health in order to live the rest of his life without causing any trouble to his son's family or anyone else. As one of those things, Kenji, who joined the city's community club, meets a person of the same age named Hashimoto, and they go to various places together and deepen their friendship. One day, Hashimoto invites Kenji to a swimming lesson. Kenji, who cannot swim at all, hesitates, but encouraged by Hashimoto's words, "Isn't it delightful to become capable of what you couldn't do before?", he decides to participate. In that classroom, Kaori, whose dreams were shattered, and spent her "remaining days" at a young age, worked as a coach. As Kenji began to think of swimming as an important "challenge" and "goal," changes gradually started to occur.
