100 years ago Paris already hosted the Olympic Games. If the France of 1924 was in many respects different from that of today, these Olympic Games raised issues common to those of 2024 on financing, transport, equipment and security. This major global event takes place in a very particular societal, cultural and political context... Paris 1924 is the reconstruction after the war, the development of mass sport, the first struggles for the place of women in events , the “peopolization” of athletes. With two major absentees: Germany and Russia.
