Opis oryginalny: francuski
From the early 1960s to the mid-1970s, independent Algeria provided significant support to anticolonial movements and revolutionaries around the world. Successive Presidents, Ahmed Ben Bella then Houari Boumédiène, made Algiers a welcoming land for activists fighting against colonial or racial oppression. White Algiers becomes Red Algiers. The internationalist Che Guevara established the rear base there for his guerrilla activities in Africa. African-American leader Eldridge Cleaver made it the center of international influence for the Black Panther Party. Algiers was called, during this period, “The Mecca of Revolutionaries”.
