It deals with the life and culture of the Caiçara population residing offshore in the state of Rio de Janeiro and in several communities located throughout the state of São Paulo. It reveals the factors that put their traditions at risk, such as excessive tourism, real estate speculation, land barbecues, implantation of conservation parks in places traditionally inhabited by these people and the threat of the oil industry with the current exploitation of two fields of pre- salt.
