Znany też jako: How Haussmann transformed Paris

Opis filmu

Opis oryginalny: francuski

In just under the twenty years of the Second Empire, from the crowded, dirty and dangerous city described by 19th century writers, Paris has grown into the great capital we know today. These works are the work of one man, Baron Haussmann, a genius of town planning who was the real director of the wishes of the Emperor Napoleon III. Yet few Parisians still remember him, if not through the prism of the criticisms leveled at him: demolition of historic districts, repression of popular uprisings, exodus of the poor, exaggerated spending. But just as legitimate as they are, what are they worth in the face of the phenomenal progress that we owe to Haussmann: hygiene, circulation, lighting, comfort ... Perhaps it would be time to give back to the baron what belongs to the baron, while 'a walk in Paris and its history.
