The European goldfinch is like a national emblem of Algeria. A small sparrow with a delicate song and magnificent colors, it has fascinated generations of Algerians for centuries. Present in almost every house in Algiers, he sings, in his few square centimeters of cage, the last notes of the memory of the wild world. Excessively hunted for years, it has almost disappeared from the Algerian plains and is now imported from neighboring countries.
