Maurice Tabret was a successful racing driver. However, he was so seriously injured in an accident that he has since been dependent on a wheelchair and needs the help of a nurse. He suffers from depression. What he does not know is that his wife Stella has a relationship with his brother Colin and that she is expecting a child from him. One morning Maurice is dead. Harvester finds heart failure, but the nurse disagrees: she is certain that Maurice was murdered, as five sleeping pills are missing in Maurice's pill jar. An autopsy should be requested. Only one of the closest people in the house could have committed the crime. When the crime is discovered, a human tragedy takes place ...
