Die Liebe der Danae
Opis filmu
Opis oryginalny: niemiecki
Richard Strauss' penultimate opera The Love of Danae has been rarely performed since its premiere in 1952 - only twenty times worldwide. The actual premiere was planned in 1944 as part of the Salzburg Festival, but had to be postponed due to the assassination attempt on Hitler. The composer died in 1949 and his opera remained hidden. Apart from a public dress rehearsal, he was no longer able to experience what he says was the best work he has ever written.
