In Beerfurth in the Odenwald there is a lot going on in the run-up to Christmas, because three family businesses have been producing there for the Advent and Christmas season for generations. They bake, cook and grind - almost around the clock. White flour dust floats through the air, and an old egg timer rings every twelve minutes. Then master Willi Baumann opens his oven and pulls the next gingerbread out to the daylight.
