This is an extraordinary investigation which reveals how close chimpanzees are to men, whether in matters of power, sexuality, friendship or jealousy. At the zoo in Arnhem, in Holland, where chimpanzees have been studied by the greatest specialists for over twenty-five years, we were able to observe the daily life of this community. We were fortunate enough to be present at a real political, almost "human" drama.
