Until 1887, the Côte d’Azur did not exist. Or, at least, she hadn't been baptized that way. This film is, from Saint-Tropez to Menton, the history in archives and testimonies of its discovery and its metamorphoses. How a poor, steep, hostile shoreline became this coveted land. Even more than the mildness of its climate, it is its light which accomplished the miracle: this resonance of the blues of the sky and the sea on which Matisse, Picasso, and so many others, nourished themselves, before Yves Klein doesn't create his own.
