As a young mother, I often felt under house arrest. I then strangely reconnected with the reality of my grandmother in agricultural and Catholic France at the beginning of the 20th century. This film is an address to my mother, whom I rediscover, a young woman from the 1950s, fleeing motherhood and domestic life. It is also a dialogue with Michelle Perrot, the historian of women, on a century of emancipation.
