Opis filmu
Opis oryginalny: niemiecki
Every year around a million people take advantage of the opportunity to temporarily turn their property into cash in pawn shops, for example in the "Dobrzynski pawnshop" in Mannheim. According to the poverty report, most Hartz IV recipients live in the city of Mannheim in the whole of Baden-Württemberg. They do not get a loan and pledge their cell phone, Playstation or new bike, for which they have been saving for the past few months, for quick money. The pawn ticket is the salvation for them in an emergency. Even in a rich city like Munich, pawnshops are booming, for example the "Käfer's pawnshop": According to owner Thomas Käfer, cousin of delicatessen entrepreneur Michael Käfer, business is going better than ever. Customers hand in around 30,000 items each year. The report shows what fates are hidden behind the walk to the pawn shop.
