In southern Piedmont, director Sandro Bozzolo retraces his personal relationship with his father Ettore, a former toll booth and chestnut farmer, a man capable of being moved by the immensity of the forest, where he recovers centuries-old abandoned chestnut groves. The common thread is the graft, which is also generational, of a valley as well as a community. Both village and forest are repopulated and a world that seemed destined to vanish is reborn, from the severed trunk of a past that is still alive.
