Dani, a 9 year old boy, has a dog named Pirata; a large black Newfoundland. One day Pirata suffers a fatal accident. Danis life takes a tragic turn, but Pirata returns from the other side as a ghost. The whole family moves to Veracruz City. In Veracruz the family meets Paddy OBrien, the watchman who takes care of the old lighthouse.
