In northern Burkina Faso, desertification is eating away at land and immigration is emptying villages. In Kamsé, the inhabitants who remained there embarked on a pharaonic construction site with means from another time: dig in the furnace, with a shovel and a pickaxe, a network of dikes and ponds, then plant thousands of 'trees to re-green and fertilize areas conquered by the desert. A battle led by women, as a new threat looms on the horizon, this time jihadist.
