Opis filmu
Opis oryginalny: francuski
A portrait of cinematographer and filmmaker Michel Brault, who was a pioneer of "direct cinema" and of the cinema "du Quebec libre". His wide angle handheld filming walking and synchronous sound revolutionized the technique and aesthetics of filming, from documentary to fiction. It lead him to work with the French New Wave filmmakers, and Jean Rouch as cinematographer of the cult film "Chronicle of a Summer. He reveals how the key scene with Marcelline Loridan talking to her father on the place de la Concorde paved the way for synchronous sound in documentary film and how Jean Rouch and himself developed the legendary KMT Coutant-Mathot Eclair camera while they were making the film.
