Guilherme, a young man chased by the police, flees to a city in the interior of Minas Gerais. In love with the mayor's niece, and threatened with death, after having his identity revealed, he decides to run away with his beloved. Papo Amarelo, a bandit from the hills of Rio de Janeiro, lives the last episodes of his troubled life, between assaults, persecutions and bacchanals, with his life portrayed by popular newspapers.
