The valley on the side of the Pielach has many surprising facets: you just have to know how to discover it. In the river itself there are still considerable stocks of huchen, the legendary two-meter-long Danube salmon and many curious fish such as streamers, tongs and goldsteinbeißer. Goose saws breed on the banks, rare kingfishers and 20 different types of dragonflies buzz above them.
