Penniless and hard-pressed, the poor countryman, Lazaros Thimaris, goes in search of a job and a better future in bustling Athens. To be in a position to give away in marriage his sister, Lazaros lands a job as a tourist agent; however, there's a catch: he needs to slip into something more traditional and pastoral chic to boost sales. Now, for the first time, Lazaros seems able to accomplish his noble aspiration, and even find love in the person of an unexpected admirer. What does Lazaros' official fiancée have to say about his shameless shenanigans? —Nick Riganas
