Spread over a few square kilometers along the Thames, the City of London is the largest concentration of banks in the world, employing 300,000 people of all nationalities and handling hundreds of billions of pounds sterling every day. Although bank excesses have resulted in a major economic crisis, and despite international pressure, the City refuses to be subject to any regulation. Everything seems to have started again as before: overpaid bankers, hedge funds, risky practices… Plunged into the heart of a universe as cozy as it is cynical, this film seeks to understand why. He tells how this little piece of England has become, over the decades, the capital of the world banking system and why it has ended up forgetting its primary mission: to finance the economy.
