Francisco Sanz Baldoví, puppeteer and artist without equal, came to the world in the Valencian town of Anna in 1871, or 1872 according to other sources. Less than seven decades later, in 1939, just as Spain was plunged into the darkness of war, the comedian left this world. Sanz's mechanical actors are an engineering prodigy, who performed in dozens of cities in Spain, Portugal and several American countries on various highly successful tours, from Argentina to Mexico, passing through Brazil, Peru or Cuba.
