Haumoana is nearly 200kg and his life is a misery. This fifteen-year-old is taking extreme measures to fight his obesity. Regardless of countless failed diet and exercise regimes, he is already showing signs of serious disease. Facing health problems and an early death, his family are at their wits’ end. Now too big to exercise, he is undergoing a lap-band operation. Without this medical intervention, he faces certain death – and soon. Could this surgery be the answer to a normal life for Haumoana?
