In WWII Slovenia, two orphaned children – a Slovenian boy and a German girl – flee a bombed town in search of a mythical valley free from war. Along the way, they meet Jim, a downed African American pilot. As they journey through a ravaged landscape, this unlikely trio forms a fragile bond in pursuit of safety, hope and a place untouched by conflict.
