Vorstoß in die Unterwelt - Die Höhlen von Vieng Xay

Opis filmu

Opis oryginalny: niemiecki

Like a spine, the Annam Mountains stretch hundreds of kilometers across the Indochina peninsula and separate Laos from Vietnam. During the eleven-year Vietnam War, the infamous Ho Chi Min Trail was created in this landscape - and hides the secret cave world of Vieng Xai in a huge karst mountain range. The documentary follows two German scientists as they make spectacular discoveries: underground rivers, shimmering stalactites and unknown animal species. Previously unpublished original footage shows the intricate cave system in which 23,000 people sought refuge during the Vietnam War and which even housed schools, banks and a theater.
