More than 150 years after the publication of Jules Verne's famous book "Journey to the Center of the Earth", has science succeeded in making this journey into the depths of the Earth? Beyond his brilliant intuitions, the novelist has inspired dozens of scientists around the world. Since then, they have never stopped trying to unravel the secrets of the earth's depths. Today, technological progress offers geologists, biochemists and seismologists new ways to truly reach the center of the Earth. Thus, in Iceland and the Sultanate of Oman, the research carried out by two scientific expeditions echoes in a disturbing way the mythical scenes of Jules Verne's imaginary story.
